The Coaches 4 Character mission “emphasizes the importance of education and character development to at risk students.” We are proud to partner with Coaches 4 Character; we think it gives at-risk students hope, and thereby the motivation and opportunity to succeed. How Coaches 4 Character works: Each year, they offer 4 sessions where the "best of the best" sports icons address the students on critical issues such as gangs, drugs and alcohol, bullying, self-esteem, surviving tough times, peer pressure, and high school graduation. Over 32,000 students (mostly at-risk youth) have attended these 31 programs the last eight years. The most recent program featured Vic Beasley and Connor Shaw. The Big Bus Alliance provids meals and bus transportation for all four programs to and from other nonprofits, churches and Title 1 schools. Over 10,000 students have attended through the Big Bus Alliance. Practically all of them would otherwise not have been able to attend.
